Truckee Dance Lessons al a Ashley Willingham

One of my fellow Realtors has a daughter who just graduated from Loyola University in Los Angeles.  Her degree was in dance, I believe, and she is a talented young lady.  Ashley is home for a couple of months and will be returning to the land of opportunity to chase and find her star but in the meantime her Mom has talked her into offering a series of 4 dance lessons to those of us in Truckee who wish to better ourselves that way.

Last night was the first class that Russ and I were able to attend.  This session involved the art of learning the “line dance.”  Interestingly, the step is basically the same as the ones I learned as the “Temptation Walk.”  Of course you may have to be my age to recognize the name of this dance it refers to a Motown Group known as The Temptations who were popular in the 60’s and 70’s and hailed from my hometown — Detroit!!

Back to the class, which cost $12 per person per session, there were about 10 of us middle aged locals.  We got a good work out and certainly challenged our coordination.  Ashley did an awesome job — she was so patient — of helping us learn this skill.  If you are interested, it is taking place at the Inner Rhythms studio out at the Truckee airport on Friday nights — 2 more, from 7 til 8pm.  Give me a call and I will hook you up!!  530 400-0531.

Next week the subject dance will be “The Swing.”  My husband seems to think that this will be better for us, he claims we know this step . . . .  we’ll see.
