Tacos Jalisco – Truckee, Baja Norte California

“Jalisco” is a state of Mexico that is located on the Pacific Coast.  Most of us know it because that is where Puerta Vallarta is located, just south of Nayarit and north of Michoacan.  It has been my experience that there are a lot of really good things that come out of it.  Lots of hard working Mexicans, and lots of great food.  Here in Truckee we have the most authentic Mexican restaurant called “Tacos Jalisco.”  These guys (or more than likely mujeres) started this restaurant in a little portable taco stand in a parking lot in Truckee.  Their trailer lasted until the Town told them they had to leave and instead of pulling up stakes, they put down roots in a little spot located on Donner Pass Road, across from the DMV and in the same center as the 7-11, next to the laundromat.  Here the jefes serve the most authentic Mexican food (in my humble anglo opinion) in Truckee.  You can order in Spanish and they don’t give you a hard time, in fact, they like it!!  Check out my friends and I last weekend having great food, reasonably!!
