Sagehen hike

Every year a group of women set out on a leisurely hike to view the Caymus Lilies in a display of their bloom. Ususally the large meadow is a sea of blue as they proudly show their color. This year was a little different however; we postponed our hike waiting for these beauties to arrive but it seems the cold weather has affected us all and they were not quite ready to strut their stuff. Timing is everything and it seems that the lilies would like another week of warm sunshine (so would we by the way!) before they bloom in all of their glory. The hike however was not a disappointment, the usually meandering little brook that our trail follows was rapidly moving it’s waters towards its destination of Stampede Lake that you see in the distance. The sound of rushing water is always welcome to hear as that means our lakes and reservoirs are filling their banks (and the doggies like it too). I guess that means we are just going to have to get out there again next week. Oh darn!
