Prosser Heights & Prosser Lakeview Estates
September 28, 2008
are located off Highway 89 North, adjacent to the new Middle School. Prosser Heights has larger lots of an acre or more allowing for horses. Prosser Lakeview Estates is in close proximity to Prosser Lake. Both are a mix of full time residences and vacation homes in a quiet area with plenty of trees. All lots currently require septic systems.
The Prosser lake area is abundant with trails for horseback riding, mountain biking, trail running or just plain hiking and dog walking. In the winter the land just north of Prosser Lakeview Estates, which happens to be U.S. Forest Service land, is used by all kinds of recreational enthusiasts including cross country skiing and snowmobiling. Prosser Lakeview Estates is the northern most subdivision which is still located within the Town of Truckee limits.

How Lucky Are We in the High Sierras?
September 27, 2008
This time of year is so awesome in the Sierras. The weather is perfect. The bike riding and the rollerblading call for a perfect amount of clothing — not too hot, not too cold (unless you leave home at 9 am). The trees are beginning to turn and the sky is so blue. Our little town is at its shrunken self with very few vacationers so we don’t have too much traffic and when we go out we mostly see locals and have time to stop and chat with them. The bittersweet about this situation is that we all know that this beauty is also a harbinger of the winter that will descend upon us at any time now. I know that the white stuff is also beautiful and so needed but I have enjoyed this summer so much that I don’t want to see it go again. Its time to put away the trailer, plant the bulbs, tie up the trees, pull up the automatic watering system, put the summer clothing in the attic and pull out the corduroys and levis.
I just got an e-mail from a friend who is in the Costa Mesa area on business. She cannot wait to get home and says “we are so lucky we live where we do.” I totally agree. I cannot even imagine living anywhere but Truckee, except sometimes in the dead of January when the snow is 8 feet high outside my door and the driveway is icy, and the possibility of seeing dirt again is at least 3 months away.
Okay, enough of that, I am just going to go out and enjoy the rest of this beautiful autumn!!
